ITINERARY
Day 1: Marrakech – Tagounite
Morning departure from Marrakech toward Tagounite, the gateway to the desert. We cross the High Atlas, Morocco’s highest mountain range, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. We continue through Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at our guest house, Les Palmeraies.
Day 2: Oued Naam – The First Step
Departure around 08:00 AM toward Erg Chegaga. After a 3-hour drive, we enjoy lunch before trekking through Race Nkhal. Around 03:00 PM, we depart for Oued Naam. After a 2-hour walk, we enjoy dinner and camp under the stars.
Day 3: Crossing the Reg & Dunes
We leave Wadi Naam at 08:00 AM for a 3-hour trek across a vast dry lake (Reg). Lunch in Loitide. At 03:00 PM, we continue walking through a stunning dune field (Erg). Dinner and overnight camp among the dunes.
Day 4: The Hamada, Sacred Oasis & Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, we cross the Hamada (stone desert) and stop for lunch at the Sacred Oasis. In the afternoon, we head toward the Erg Chegaga dunes—the highest and most extensive in the region (300m high and over 40km long). Dinner and overnight stay in traditional nomad tents.
Day 5: Tagounite – A Walk Through Time
After breakfast, we return to the village of Tagounite by 4x4. Enjoy free time to visit the ancient Kasbahs, experiencing a journey back in time. Dinner and overnight stay. Lunch marks the end of our desert services.
Day 6: Return to Marrakech
After breakfast, departure for the return journey to Marrakech.
