ITINERARY

Day 1: Marrakech – Tagounite

Morning departure from Marrakech toward Tagounite, the gateway to the desert. We cross the High Atlas, Morocco’s highest mountain range, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. The journey continues through Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at our guest house, Les Palmeraies.

Day 2: Into the Wild Desert

After breakfast, we begin our journey into the deep desert. This first stage leads us into the wild, where we will set up camp in the heart of the wilderness.

Day 3: Wild Desert – Oued Naam

Trek toward Oued Naam, heading to El Bour for lunch. In the evening, we set up camp among the dunes near desert trees (to gather wood for the fire used to cook traditional tagine and sand-baked bread).

Day 4: The Sacred Oasis & Erg Chegaga

The final stage of our outbound journey: the Sacred Oasis is an essential stop on the way to Erg Chegaga. Here, a constant stream of water flows, and nomads bring their herds to drink. We reach the majestic Chegaga dunes (300m high) to watch the sunset from the peaks.

Day 5: Returning via Bougarne

The first stage of the return journey. We will spend the night camping in the beautiful dunes of Bougarne.

Day 6: The Hamada & Bertane

Today we cross areas of hamada (stone desert) and shifting dunes to reach our campsite in Bertane.

Day 7: Erg Lihoudi

In this stage, we return to the Erg Lihoudi dunes, where we will spend our final night under the desert stars.

Day 8: M'hamid – Tagounite

Return trek to M'hamid. Transfer back to Tagounite for dinner and an overnight stay at the guest house.

Day 9: Tagounite – A Walk Through Time

Breakfast and free time to visit the ancient Kasbahs of Tagounite or enjoy a traditional local hammam. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Return to Marrakech

Breakfast and departure for the return journey to Marrakech.
